Wildlife Photography

  • Course
  • 24 Lessons

Join us for a 7 week course and learn the ins and outs of wildlife photography. Wether you're photographing birds in your back yards, or elephants in Africa, you may want to be better prepared so you won't miss any shots.

Next course starts TBD

Going wild!

No matter where you are, if you step outside and stand still for a minute, you're almost sure to find some wildlife. From the smallest beetle to creatures big enough to strike awe in our hearts, non-human subjects are all around. (Even in NH, you might find the occasional bear or moose - although you're more likely to stumble across a chipmunk.) Photographing wildlife takes some special skills, some adaptability, some creativity, and a healthy dose of patience. In our 7-week Wildlife Photography course, we'll explore the art of animal art, including a field trip to Roger Williams Zoo to put your skills to the test.
The first part of our Wildlife Photography course will include brief reviews of the basics of camera-slinging and the aspects of photo composition that pertain to wildlife photography. We'll also go on a class field trip to the Roger Williams Zoo, where you'll have the opportunity to practice your new skills in a live situation.
And then, hang onto your hat: the course will take an intermission, during which we will journey Into Africa for the ultimate wildlife photography photo safari. The trip is optional, of course. Should you choose to travel with us, though, your skills should be up to the task.
After the trip, our Wildlife Photography course will pick back up at home, and we'll focus on editing and printing our stunning wildlife images. (If you were not part of the Into Africa adventure, no worries - your images from Roger Williams Zoo will do nicely.)
Included with the course are all the notes you may need to take. We already have that done for you. You will get a well-organized book with notes and information for each photography class.
This course runs only once a year, and it's possible that it may only be a one-time offering. So, if you'd like to learn to photograph the beauty of the great outdoors from us, the time to act is now.
